  1. Storytelling as communication
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
A story is a message from a teller to an audience. Grade 7 will use it to address a social issue, not only to joke.
  2. Voice technique
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Make a story interesting with volume, pace, pause, pitch and a character voice - without a 5-minute shout or a mock accent.
  3. Body technique
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Use still focus, one clear gesture, levels and an open space. Mime a school moment without hitting or blocking the audience.
  4. Song, audience, props, costume
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Add at most one or two extras: a chant, a planned audience question, a found prop, a decent costume piece. They must serve the issue.
  5. Beginning, middle, end
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
A 3-5 minute story needs a spine: who/where/issue, a growing problem and choice, a result and theme. Invent characters.
  6. Compose the 3-5 minute story
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Pick one social issue, invent who and where, write three beats, plan one extra technique, and time a read-through toward 3-5 minutes.
  7. Qualities of a good flipbook
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
A good flipbook sequences small changes, keeps position, is crafted, and binds so it riffles. It serves one story moment.
  8. Draw the sequence
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Draw 16-24 same-size pages of one action with small changes and a stable position. Pencil, number the backs, trace then shift.
  9. Bind and riffle
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Collate, bind one edge, riffle at a steady speed. Use the book at one moment in the story, not through the whole telling.
  10. Warm up and rehearse
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Warm voice and body, run beginning-middle-end with the riffle, time 3-5 minutes, and take one partner note.
  11. Perform the story
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Perform 3-5 minutes before an audience. Realise communication if they can name the issue. Appreciate technique and message. Optional consented recording.
