  1. Respecting and protecting rights in the community
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Human rights are claims of dignity backed by law. Respect is daily treatment; protection is action when a right is at risk. Grade 7 classified; Grade 8 asks who keeps them alive here.
  2. Duty-bearers who protect rights
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
The state must protect rights; families, schools, counties, police, courts, KNCHR and neighbours share duties. A right without a duty-bearer is a poster.
  3. Effective communication on human rights
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Listen, name the right, use facts, choose a safe channel, include the person, follow up. Communication fosters respect when it aims at a remedy, not a crowd.
  4. Children's rights in the Constitution
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Article 53: every child has a right to a name and nationality, free basic education, basic nutrition, shelter and health care, protection from abuse, parental care, and to have their best interests come first. A child is under 18.
  5. The Children's Act, 2022
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
The Children's Act 2022 is the latest major Kenyan statute on children. It operationalises survival, development, protection and participation, and sets offices and offences including against child labour and child marriage.
  6. The African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
The ACRWC (1990) is Africa's child-rights treaty. Kenya has ratified it. It lists rights and duties, forbids child marriage and child soldiers, and is celebrated on the Day of the African Child, 16 June.
  7. Protecting children against violation
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Violation is when a child's right is broken. Kenya protects through reporting, DCS, police child-protection desks, hospitals, courts, schools and helplines. Demonstrate the path; never send a child to investigate alone.
  8. Issue tree and society's responsibility
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Map roots, effects and solutions of rights violations. Society - neighbours, faith groups, employers, media, learners - shares the duty, not only the police.
