  1. Water entry and pool safety
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Water entry skill is a safety choice: known depth, a watcher, and never a dive into a dam, river or shallow end.
  2. Ways of water entry
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Describe walk-in, feet-first jump, pencil dive and crouch dive, and match each to depth.
  3. Crouch dive: the shape
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Learn the crouch-dive set, go and enter: toes on the edge, arms by the ears, chin tucked, hands first in deep water.
  4. Practise the crouch dive
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Practise crouch dives through dry-land, optional sit-push, and wall entries on command, aiming for a tight line and a small splash.
  5. Pencil dive
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Execute a pencil entry: straight tight body, pointed toes, small splash, usually feet-first in school pools; head-first only if depth is confirmed.
  6. Practise the pencil dive
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Practise pencil entries on command with ticks for a tight line and a small splash, still one diver in the box.
  7. Backstroke kick in supine
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Lie supine with hips up and flutter-kick from the hips so the face stays free to breathe and the body moves.
  8. Backstroke arms and breathing
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Add opposite arm action: recover past the ear, little finger enters, pull to the hip, and breathe steadily because the face is up.
  9. Coordinating backstroke
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Put body line, flutter kick, opposite arms, breath and wall awareness together on short repeats, then give specific feedback.
  10. Appreciate backstroke effort
    40 min · 1 practice tasks · quiz
Show a short backstroke, give specific appreciation of effort, and recap that entry skill remains a safety choice.
